The story, the memories, the photos and the phrasing you wrote yourself are yours. We only use them to create your song and for what you've explicitly agreed to.

Private use — how the license works

All songs from aSongio are delivered with a license for private use only, unless otherwise stated in your order confirmation. That means you may use the song for personal, non-commercial purposes within a closed circle.

The song is created for a specific occasion and a specific recipient. The license travels with the song, not with the venue or organizer. You can play it at the occasion, but you cannot transfer, sell or lend the right to use it commercially.

What you can do with the song

• Play the song privately, as many times as you like
• Play it at your wedding, party, ceremony or memorial service
• Share it with family and friends via your private song link
• Download the audio file and keep it for personal use
• Use it in a private, non-commercial video or slideshow
• Send the link to guests, friends and family in a personal context
• Play it at a private gathering, even if it's held at a restaurant, church or venue

What isn't included in the private license

• Publishing on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music or other streaming services
• Use in advertising, paid promotion, sponsored content or commercial films
• Selling the song, the audio file or products that include the song
• Lending, selling or transferring the song to a business, association or other organization
• Registering the song as your own work with a rights organization, or sampling it in your own work
• Uploading the song publicly to social media, podcasts or radio without separate permission

Commercial license — add-on

If the song will be used by a business, in marketing, in a product launch or in a published film, a commercial license is required. It's ordered as an add-on, and the scope is written into your order confirmation.

Distribution to streaming services

Distribution is an add-on and is handled through an external distributor. We're responsible for delivering the material, but not for the distributor's or platform's processing time, decisions or any rejections.

Songs about children, about deceased people without family consent, or that contain sensitive personal data, are not distributed.

Our right to showcase songs

We never showcase your song as an example without your explicit, separate consent — and you can always withdraw it. The examples on our website are either produced in-house or published with written permission.

Songs about other people

Even though you place the order, the person the song is about has a right to privacy. If the song is going to be published publicly, we assume that person — or their family, if the person has passed away — is aware of it.
